Welcome!
Thank you for visiting the Church of the Ascension’s home on the Internet.
The Church of the Ascension, a parish in the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic States of the Anglican Catholic Church, is steeped in history and tradition. Worship services are conducted in The Old Stone Church of Historic Centreville, which was used as a hospital, for both the Union and Confederacy, during the Civil War. Lessons are read from the Authorized (King James) Version of the Bible, worship is conducted according to the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, and hymns are sung from the 1940 Hymnal.
Each Sunday there are services for Morning Prayer and Holy Communion (see Sunday Services to the right). There is an adult education period between the services, and a nursery and Sunday school are available to the families with children during our 11 a.m. service. After the 11 a.m. service has concluded, we would love for you to join us in the parish hall downstairs for light refreshments and conversation.
We look forward to seeing you at the Church of the Ascension!
